We start in the ancient city of Porto, one of the oldest European centres, now proclaimed a World Heritage site that includes the medieval Ribeira (riverside) district, narrow cobbled streets that wind past merchants’ houses and cafes. The São Francisco Church is known for its lavish baroque interior with ornate gilded carvings.
This Adventure takes in many aspects of the amazing history and culture that make the amazing country of Portugal, skirting the Spanish border that has remained largely unchanged since 1237! From Porto, we wind through the heart of the Port region, the Doro Valley, take in Roman bridges and architecture, drop into vast forests of cork trees and sample local almond based produce before reaching the Algarve 8 days later.


Day 1
Arrival
You will be met at Heathrow airport by the Your Adventure team who will accompany you on the flight to Porto where we will transit to the hotel in dedicated transport. You will then have a chance to settle in and relax, perhaps re-connect with your bike and ensure it is ready for your adventure before mixing with the rest of the group. Briefing in hotel at 18:30 followed by dinner.
Day 2
Porto to Bragança - 202 Miles
Mainly on minor roads, the transit the amazing Doro Valley; invocative, incredible and engaging, this area is famous for its wines, scenery and people. This is a chance to relax into the adventure getting a feel for your bike and the ruggedness of Portugal before we arrive into Braganca at the start of the ACT and the trails.


Day 3
Bragança to Torre de Moncorvo - 110 Miles
Although Day 1 has the shortest amount of kilometres, the track presents a accentuated degree of altitude differences and tight corners and bends. There are two options on the day as some of the trails have technical sections that need to be avoided, if with adverse weather, an alternative may be required. The trails will take you on gravel and rocky trails and will be crossing some beautiful ancient Roman bridges and a castle. The arrival at Torre of Moncorvo is preceded by some tracks crossing the top of the mountains and from where you can contemplate the beautiful and famous Douro Valley.
Day 4
Torre de Moncorvo to Vale do Rossim - 158 Miles
Day 2 is a great day of amazing tracks and twisties to ride. Surrounded by great landscapes you start the day still in the amazing Douro Valley, home of the famous Portuguese wines. We then cross an area home to amazing and colourful rocks when the sun is hitting them. During the day, you will be meters away from Spain with only the river is separating the two countries. We will visit Castelo Rodrigo, an ancient historical place for Portugal and take time to reflect at the old castle eventually arriving at Serra da Estrela.


Day 5
Vale do Rossim to Abrantes - 146 Miles
Again another day with high quality off-road tracks riding through the Serra da Estrela and Serra da Gardunha mountains. The endorphins are assured here with beautiful mountain roads. we encounter different challenges of off-road with a river crossing at the Tejo River, the biggest river in the Iberia Peninsula that starts in Spain and cuts Portugal in half.
Day 6
Abrantes to Moura - 177 Miles
This is the transition between the north and south this amazing country. Dropping down out of the mountains, we approach the wide plains of the south. Landscape changes completely as we take in the magnificent castles of Estremoz and Monsaraz. Off-road tracks are wide and fun with reduced number of technical tracks eventually taking us around the biggest artificial lake in Europe, the Barragemd o Alqueva. The longest day of the Adventure it delivers a vast diversity of landscapes as we transit south.


Day 7
Moura to La Cacela Velha - 152 Miles
This is the day with the most percentage of off-road tracks and different landscapes that we will be visiting. Following the quicker and wider tracks we will visit the Minas de São Domingos, alien landscapes of the abandoned mine workings that you can ride through ending in the beautiful town of Mertola with an historical castle and town centre. Just as you think you are riding into the end, offer us a further chance to enjoy tracks of the Algarve mountains that separate this famous tourism destination. The end of the day is at the very small village of Cacela Velha on a very small castle.
Day 8
Moura to La Cacela Velha - 152 Miles

Isla Canela to Carmona - 137 Miles
Our last day takes us along the southern TET into Spain and up into the incredible hilltop town of Comona, historic home to Phoenician traders, Romans and the Moors. The trails are open gravel tracks through the foothills and open spaces of the sun-baked plains of southern Spain, allowing us to have a relaxed and enjoyable last day enjoying some great food and amazing sights created in times long gone.
Day 10
Relax and Reflect
Relax and enjoy the facilities as you regal your Adventure with the other guests.
Take time to relax in the pool, walk the amazing beaches beaches before you rejoin the team for our transit to the airport and flight home.

Eligibility
This adventure is both physically and technically challenging. Experience riding trails on a regular basis and general fitness will help you to relax on challenging days.
Off road training will be a benefit.
