Portugal Day 4.jpg

Port, Almonds & Cork

Saturday 20th – Saturday 27th August 2022

Portugal
7 Days
938 Miles

We start in the ancient city of Porto, one of the oldest European centres, now proclaimed a World Heritage site that includes the medieval Ribeira (riverside) district, narrow cobbled streets that wind past merchants’ houses and cafes. The São Francisco Church is known for its lavish baroque interior with ornate gilded carvings.

This Adventure takes in many aspects of the amazing history and culture that make the amazing country of Portugal, skirting the Spanish border that has remained largely unchanged since 1237! From Porto, we wind through the heart of the Port region, the Doro Valley, take in Roman bridges and architecture, drop into vast forests of cork trees and sample local almond based produce before reaching the Algarve 8 days later.
